My name is Robert Provencher. I have been running a successful photography studio for over 30 years and continue to do so, even in spite of what I hear others say, that the industry has changed and no one is making a go of it anymore. That's pure baloney. The truth is, photography is a business, and photographers have had it too good for for too long.

There was a time not so long ago when you could easily succeed in your own photography business. You can still succeed. It's just not easy anymore. In other words, the photography industry has caught up with the rest of the world and we now have to play by the same business rules that everyone plays at.

But it's stil possible, if you're willing, ambitious, willing to do the work and eager to succeed in your own photography business. But don't be fooled. There are no shortcuts.

If your thing is wedding photography, I know what I'm talking about. I still book weddings out every year. In spite of the fact that every second person around me is now a wedding photographer willing to shoot anyone's wedding for  peanuts.  Many see this as a bad thing. I not only see it as brain dead stupid but I see opportunity. Part of being successful is seeing opportunity when others only see pain and roadblocks.

If you love shooting families, and recognize what I already know, and have known for decades, that families, being a lot tougher to photograph than most are aware of, is still a very, very lucrative niche in portrait photography, than my family system is just the thing.
